LENT SERMON SERIES
"Clarity"
Life is full of noise from technology, work, school, phone calls, email, video games. Noise is everywhere, all day, every day. How much of all this noise keeps us from seeing or hearing God?
Lent is a time of reflection, and we reflect on the distractions that separate us from God and what the cost was to reunite with us in Jesus. Join us this Lenten season beginning March 6 as we learn to remove the noise and distractions keeping us from God and replace them with clarity.
Our walk with God is a journey. Check out our worship guide to find are some things you can do to deepen your understanding of each week's topic during this sermon series.
HOPE IN ACTION
Lenten Mission Project
Each year for Lenten season, Trinity UMC has chosen an organization or mission to support that is working to address the needs of a community. This year our we have decided to start in our own backyard, as missions often do, in support One Hopeful Place.
Have you ever given money or food to the person you see on the street corner with the cardboard signs? There is no right or wrong answer. The real question is, how does this help them, in the long run, get off the street. In reality, sometimes it doesn’t.
In 2020, an estimated 351 individuals in Okaloosa County were experiencing homelessness, and many of these individuals utilize the Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen. This year for the Lenten Mission Project, we will be helping end the cycle of homelessness starting in our backyard by supporting One Hopeful Place. One Hopeful Place serves as the front door into permanent housing for up to 50 men and 11 women in our community, and they actively help those who wish to end their cycle of homelessness.

About Worship
Let's Gather Together in Praise!
Traditional Worship
Traditional worship at Trinity keeps us in touch with the deepest roots of the Christian faith. We appreciate the traditional elements of worship and have pews, pulpits, choir lofts, robes for pastors and choirs, daylight streaming through the stained glass, the deep resonant sound of a pipe organ, and the classical piano. Voices led by the Chancel Choir lift high the praises of God. It has everything you'd expect in traditional worship.
Every Sunday is a structured combination of the use of traditional prayers and liturgy. It allows you to put yourself in a place where we can hear God's voice through song, traditional prayer, scripture reading, and sermon.
Contemporary Worship
Entering the Memorial Fellowship Hall you are greeted by the sound of musicians with guitars, a keyboard, and a drum set perform a microphone sound check. When the electronic countdown board reaches zero, the worship band launches into a set heartfelt song praising God. Each song meant to help you focus on your personal devotional experience and praise before the message.
Contemporary worship provides a mix of contemporary and traditional elements. If you love church traditions and a bit more pep in your music, contemporary is the perfect place for you.

"Short Stories by Jesus" • April 26
Jesus often spoke in parables. A parable is a tale about a simple, common subject to illustrate a deeper, valuable moral lesson.
Join us for a NEW 6-week study beginning Tuesday, April 26 at 6:00 p.m., "Short Stories by Jesus" by Dr. Amy Jill Levine.
This study will give us a fresh look at the parables Jesus told. We'll get a better picture of what was understood by the original audience in the context of their culture, lifestyle, and way of living. Then we will interpret them as modern contemporary listeners.
We hope you'll join us in learning more about what the parables of Jesus mean to us in our everyday lives.
Sign up by contacting the church office at (850) 862-4169 or at any worship services.
